About Serendipity Toys

Family owned and operated since 1979

We established Serendipity Toys as a family-operated business in 1979, largely from a desire to offer the community of Ojai a source of traditional high-quality toys that would engage children in constructive play.

We view our toy store as an active agent within the community.  We avoid stocking “war toys” and products that promote violence.  We strive to stock our shelves with playthings that have lasting play value and encourage the use of imagination.

We wish to have a lasting and positive impact on the lives of youth. We donate merchandise to local schools and charitable fundraisers, and to organizations that focus on creative and educational engagement.

It is our hope that everyone should have a good time and positive experience in our store. We maintain several play areas for the young, and items of amusement to encourage the child in each of us.

We are committed to friendly, helpful service, and provide complementary gift wrapping.

As the word serendipity suggests, hopefully an unexpected pleasant experience wandering through our toy store.  Family owned since 1979, Joe and Lilly venture to try to carry toys that provide enjoyable and constructive play value, and which engage a person in imaginative and creative endeavors.  

We carry Lego, Playmobil, Calico Critters, science toys, books, dolls, stuffed animals, retro playthings, art supplies and crafts – appealing to wide age ranges and prices.
